Router1# configure terminal
Router1(config)# interface fastethernet 0/0
Router1(config-if)# ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0
Router1(config-if)#no shutdown
Router1(config-if)#exit
Router1(config)#exit
Router1#show ip interface brief [ You have ip address and interface up]

SERIAL PORT

Router1(config)#interface serial 2/0
Router1(config-if)# ip 200.200.10.1 255.255.255.0
Router1(config-if)# clock rate 64000
Router1(config-if)# no shutdown

NOTE: Clock rate should be fed to the DCE router only for timing synchronization with other routers.
